What’s happening at Next Step?

April 8, 2020 by Heather Vasquez Leave a Comment

Next Step continues to remain open to serve. Now more than ever families need help and Next Step is blessed to be in a position to provide. Right now there are 3 (of our 4) staff including myself coming in day after day to work and serve. We’ve got some very thorough cleaning protocols in place we perform daily and after each visit. We are providing masks and gloves to those who need it and while our boutique is closed staff can still get what’s needed on a case by case basis. We have been asking clients to come in one household at a time and to wait if another family is in the clinic. We are encouraging families to call ahead to have us bag up diapers and formula.

The link below will take you to our Amazon Wish List where you can purchase baby items, supplies, maternity and breastfeeding items for our families – to be delivered direct to Next Step!

Next Step has been partnering with Snohomish County Mutual Aid in providing and delivering supplies for families staying home and a wonderful group called Missions with a heart provided Next Step with multi-use cloth masks so that was a blessing.

We are still seeing many young women coming in for confirmatory pregnancy testing and our advocates are talking and praying with them. Right now we are offering ultrasounds one day per week typically for our most abortion vulnerable and referring those who intend to carry to our partners at 3W Women’s Medical as needed. We are so blessed to be able to continue our work and its because of our beautiful and convicted supporters.

Next Step’s response to the Coronavirus

Next Step is open our normal business hours so far – Monday – Friday 10am-6pm and accepting walk in patients for diaper and formula supplies, donations, and at this time, still pregnancy testing and ultrasounds.

Next Step is taking all necessary precautions by washing hands frequently, wiping down and sanitizing all surfaces, bathrooms, doors, and keyboards. We are also working with our Medical Director and Nurse Manager when scheduling clients for medical appointments.

While we want to keep our doors open for clients in need we also recognize the need for caution and want to keep clients, volunteers, and staff safe and healthy.

That being said if you are experiencing any symptoms such as cough, fever, or aches and pains and other flu-like symptoms please try and stay home!

Next Step is committed to assisting in any way we can – give us a call if you need anything whether for a client or otherwise.

Next Step News

March 4, 2020 by Heather Vasquez Leave a Comment

  • Next Step Pregnancy Services has welcomed our newest nurse volunteer, Barbara! With Barbara’s help, our Nurse Manager Kim will soon be able to offer OB Ultrasounds 5 days a week!
  • Being able to offer Ultrasounds more often will ensure we are able to serve the women and girls who come to us. Being able to confirm a viable pregnancy, see a heartbeat, even pick out the little one’s fingers and toes – ensures our clients are informed and supported and can begin preparing for their little one.
  • This month we are working with Blessed Sacrament church in Seattle on a Baby Bottle campaign to raise money for the ministry. Those donations make it possible for Next Step to remain open, staffed, and maintained every day! Thank you Blessed Sacrament.
